STARS takes a different approach to most and this is reflected in the innovative package of support that we offer.
“We must take heart in the work of the STARS Foundation and renew our own determination to create a better life for families everywhere.”
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton
“Restricted giving misses a fundamental point: to make the greatest impact on society requires first and foremost a great organisation, not a single great programme”.
Jim Collins,
New Philanthropy Capital Report
Through our Impact Awards and Impact Partnerships we are committed to helping already effective charities become even stronger by enhancing their capacity to deliver vital services on the ground. By supporting these organisations and recognising the deep impact they are having on the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable children, we hope that the Awards will inspire others to achieve similar standards of excellence.
We find that all too often organisations are restricted by a rigid approach to funding, which can limit effectiveness. This is why, in partnership with New Philanthrophy Capital in 2010, we published our report, STARS Report – ‘Recognising Excellence – the case for giving well-run organisations unrestricted funding’. Part of our ongoing work involves influencing others to make donor giving more responsive as highlighted in this article published in The World Today (Chatham House).
