His Excellency Amr A. Al Dabbagh (Founding Chairman)

Amr A. Al Dabbagh has been Governor of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority since March 2004. Prior to that, he was President & Chief Executive Officer of the Dabbagh Group since 1991.

Mark Bridges

Mark Bridges is an English solicitor and has been a partner in Farrer & Co since 1985. He has a varied legal practice both domestic and international, and covers taxation, trusts, charities, estate and succession planning.

In 1998 he was appointed as the Solicitor for the Affairs of the Duchy of Lancaster and in 2002 as Private Solicitor to HM Queen Elizabeth II. He lectures on trust and succession issues, and edited International Succession Laws (2001). In addition Mark Bridges is active within the voluntary sector. He is a Governor of The Purcell School and of Sherborne School for Girls; he is also Trustee & Treasurer of Music in Country Churches.

Professor John Quelch

Professor Quelch is the Lincoln Filene Professor of Business Administration and Senior Associate Dean at Harvard Business School. John Quelch was previously the Former Dean and Professor at London Business School, and the Sebastian S. Kresge Professor of Marketing and Co-Chair of the Marketing Area at Harvard Business School.

Professor Quelch is the author and co-author of 16 books including Global Marketing Management (1998) and the Marketing Challenge of Europe 1992 (1991). He has published over 50 articles on marketing management and public policy, issued in leading journals such as Harvard Business Review, McKinsey Quarterly and Sloan Management Review. In addition he is widely quoted in business publications and has appeared on CNN and CNBC. A non-executive director of WPP Group plc and Inverness Medical Innovations Inc, Professor Quelch has served as a consultant, seminar leader and speaker for firms, industry associations and government agencies in more than 40 countries.

Mohamed H. Jazeel

Mohamed Husnee Jazeel is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the Dabbagh Group. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK, and counts nearly 25 years of experience in the fields of audit practice, corporate finance and general management.

Prior to joining Dabbagh Group, he had a successful career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, serving them in Sri Lanka, Singapore and Malawi. Mohamed Jazeel also serves as a director of many other overseas subsidiaries and affiliates of the Dabbagh Group.

Sally Tennant

Sally Tennant has spent her career in the wealth management industry. She was Chief Executive of Schroders Private Banking from 2002 to 2005 and a founding partner of Beaumont Capital Management which was bought by Schroders PLC in 2001. She is currently the Chief Executive of Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch.

Sally Tennant began her career as an investment manager at SG Warburg followed by Morgan Grenfell before moving to Gartmore PLC in 1991. At Gartmore she built the European investment team and was the Director responsible for Gartmore’s global institutional business. She is co-chairman of Tommy’s The Baby Charity and a Governor of Sherborne School for Girls.

John Crawshaw

John Crawshaw is a retired business executive with over 30 years of marketing and general management experience in the US and international markets.  He held executive positions in the US, Canada, the Pacific Rim, the Far East and Europe for a major multinational food company.

John Crawshaw supports micro-lending activities in the Far East and thalassemia treatment in isolated ocean communities, and contributes to a food bank in the southern United States.  He is governor of a private school with international students and volunteers his time to support various educational projects.

Gavyn Davies

Gavyn Davies is currently the Chairman of Fulcrum Asset Management and Head of the Fulcrum Investment Committee. Previously, he was a Partner at Goldman Sachs and also the firm’s Chief Economist and Chairman of the Research Department. He was repeatedly ranked as the City’s top UK and European economist in surveys of institutional investors. Gavyn was also Chairman of the BBC from 2001 to 2004.

In addition to his involvement with STARS, Gavyn is also a Trustee, Director and Founding Donor of New Philanthropy Capital, Trustee of Dimbleby Cancer Care and The Waterford School Trust, Vice President of North Devon Hospice, Director of the Wandsworth Museum, and Patron of Shine.

Robert Davies

STARS will always remember the dedication and passion of Robert Davies, who served as a Trustee from 2001 until 2006. Robert sadly passed away in August 2007.
