Every child has the right to an education, yet more than 120 million children, the majority of whom are girls, are not in school.
Only around two thirds of children complete five years of schooling, the minimum required for basic literacy. Where they are in school, millions of children are still being taught by untrained and under-resourced teachers, in cramped and ill-equipped classrooms.
