History
Founded by Dabbagh Group in 2001 and based in London, STARS has provided grants to non-profit making organisations working with disadvantaged children.
In 2007 we launched the STARS Impact Awards under the Patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan. The Awards first launched in Africa, expanding to Asia, the Middle East and Pacific regions by 2010. Our work focuses on countries that UNICEF identifies as having the highest under-five-mortality rates.
In 2010, in partnership with New Philanthropy Capital, we launched our first research report, Recognising excellence: the case for giving well-run organisations unrestricted funding. and in 2011, we are piloting a new and innovative body of work called STARS Impact Partnerships.
STARS is grateful for the continued guidance of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Patron of the STARS Impact Awards.
“I am proud to be a patron of the STARS Foundation Impact Awards, and to support the work of those who are building a better world for children.
“STARS treats underprivileged children like the shining treasures they are, giving them the protection, education, and support to help create a brighter future for us all.”
