Stage 1 Assessment Process
- STARS will check each application for eligibility. Ineligible applications will not be assessed.
- STARS will then assess all of the eligible applications received by the closing date to compile a shortlist of around 40 applications for each region (Africa-Middle East and Asia-Pacific) across the categories of Health, Education and Protection.
- Successful applicants who have been shortlisted will be invited to apply to Stage 2 and unsuccessful applicants will be provided with feedback on their application.
- Shortlisted applicants will be emailed the Stage 2 application form and guidance notes to complete. Organisations will have approximately 6 weeks to complete the Stage 2 application.
Stage 2 Assessment Process
- STARS and an independent third party will assess Stage 2 applications received by the closing date to compile a shortlist of applications for each region to forward to an independent Awards Panel for further consideration. The assessment will be based on the criteria for Stage 1 and Stage 2 applications, as well as the overall strength of your whole application.
- The Awards Panel (one for each region) will include individuals with a broad range of experience. This could be in business, finance, the voluntary sector, or in working with disadvantaged children. The role of the Awards Panel will be to review the shortlisted applications and select a recipient and a runner up in each category of Health, Education and Protection.
- The Panel recommendation will be put to the Trustees of STARS, who will make the final decision.
