Child Welfare Scheme Nepal (CWSN)
Established in 1997, Child Welfare Scheme Nepal (CWSN) aims to improve the lives of the poorest and most marginalised children in Nepal through access to health and education opportunities. From offering safe motherhood programmes to vocational training for disadvantaged youth, its holistic efforts are directed towards addressing local needs in the context of international development priorities of reducing child mortality, improving maternal health and access to education.
CWNS is using its Award funding to purchase a plot of land to build an extension for its clinic, which provides essential primary healthcare for marginalised children and young people living in Nepal’s urban slums and remote villages.
In addition it is using its access to STARS consultancy support to invest in bolstering the organisation’s fundraising capability and building a stronger platform for fundraising in the future. CWSN has also benefited from the media package offered with the STARS Award to help raise its profile both locally, in particular with key government agencies, and internationally.
