STARS will score all eligible Stage 1 applications received by the closing date to compile a shortlist of up to 40 applications for each region (Africa-Middle East and Asia) across the categories of Health, Education and Protection.
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP will conduct a review of the shortlist to ensure that consistency and fairness has been applied in the assessment process. The assessment of applications throughout the process will be based on the criteria listed in ‘what STARS is looking for’ as well as the overall strength of the application.
The 40 shortlisted organisations from each region will be invited to apply to Stage 2 of the process and will be emailed the Stage 2 application form to complete. Organisations will have approximately 6 weeks to complete the Stage 2 application.
Stage 2 Assessment Process
STARS and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP will be reviewing Stage 2 applications received by the closing date to compile a shortlist of applications for each region to forward to an independent Awards Panel for further consideration.
The Awards Panel (one for each of Africa-Middle East and Asia) will include individuals with experience in the fields of disadvantaged children, business, finance and the voluntary sector. The role of the Awards Panel will be to review the shortlisted applications with a view to selecting the best application in each of the areas of health, education and protection.
The Panel will make a recommendation for a recipient in each of these three categories to the Trustees of STARS, who will make the final decision.
